CHITTAGONG: The ship named MV Tax, carrying 27,000 tonnes of rice imported from Vietnam reached Chittagong port on Monday morning (July 17).
Sources of food department said that the rice will be unloaded after completing the formality, including the lab test.
The government has decided to import 250,000 tonnes of rice at from Vietnam under a government-to-government agreement.
As per the decision, the food ministry will import 50,000 tonnes of boiled rice and 200,000 tonnes of white rice.
