DHAKA: Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Sayeed Khokon has announced that free healthcare and medicines will be provided to people affected by quick spreading viral fever ‘Chikungunya’.

Mayor Khokon made the statement while inaugurating a health awareness program on preventing Chikungunya titled ‘Mission Dhanmandi’ in Dhanmandi’s Rabindra Sharobar auditorium on Sunday afternoon (July 16).

He said the affected patients will be provided free medicines and medical services at 28 health centers, including three hospitals under the City Corporation. Moreover, he urged city-dwellers to participate in the awareness program adopted by Corporation. 

“From now on, a total of 40 workers will carry out mosquito-killing activates in each wards of Dhaka city under the supervision of counselors. We have to prevent the reproduction of Aedes mosquito that spread Dengu and Chikungunya virus.”
