BARISAL: A tribunal in Barisal has awarded life term imprisonment to a drug peddler. The court also fined the convict Tk. 20,000, in default, six months more imprisonment.

Judge of the Barisal's tribunal for prevention of crimes under public safety act Md. Rafiqul Islam delivered the verdict on Sunday (July 16).

The convict drug peddler is Kazi Ujjal alias Kazi Rezaul Karin, son of Kazi Abu Zafar of Sagordi Isha Khan Road area under Ward No. 23 in Barisal city.

Bench assistant of the court Feruzul Islam confirmed the matter to the Banglanews.

According to the case statement, Kazi Ujjal was arrested on March 26 in 2016 with 35 bottles of phensedyl. Later, a case was filed against him in this connection.
