COX’S BAZAR: Three minor children including two siblings drowned in a pond in Cox’s Bazar Sadar upazila early Sunday (June 25).

The deceased were identified as—Mubin, son of Abu Taher, and Tuhin and Abdullah, students of a local school and sons of Abdus Samad in Dulafakir Mazar area under sadar upazila.

Locals recovered the body after an hour-long frantic effort at around 9:00 in the morning. 

Helal Uddin, a resident of the area, told Banglanews that the trio fell into the water while playing on a bamboo-built small vessel in the pond, in the morning.

Cox’s Bazar Sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Ranjit Barua confirmed the incident to Banglanews.
