JESSORE: A juvenile reportedly committed suicide in the Kishore Unnayan Kendra (Juvenile Development Centre) in Jessore on Friday (June 23).

The juvenile committed suicide by hanging himself from a stair grill at the second floor of the Kishore Unnayan Kendra at about 10:00 am.

He hanged himself form the grill through spinning himself by a towel.

The deceased was identified as Gobinda, 15, son of Sushil Soren of Tatihat area under Tanore upazila in Rajshahi.  

He was detained on June 14 at Tanore in Jessore for an attempt to murder case in 2016. He was sent to the Kishore Unnayan Kendra following the court order.

Assistant director of Jessore Kishore Unnayan Kendra Mohammad Shahab Uddin said that Gobinda died on the way of hospital. His body was sent to the Jessore General Hospital for autopsy, he said.    

Before suicide, Gobinda talked to her mother over mobile phone on Thursday (June 22).
