DHAKA: A police constable and his ten-year-old daughter were killed in a road crash as a bus rammed them in Jenna area of Demra in Dhaka on Wednesday evening (June 21).

The deceased were identified as Ariful Zaman Mia, 40 and his daughter Sumaiya. Ariful was a resident of Demra’s Hajinagar area and had been working at the GR section court of Dhaka.

Advocate Mamun, deceased’s brother, told Banglanews that the incident happened as a local bus crushed Ariful and his daughter while they were crossing road leaving Sumaiya dead on spot. Locals rushed Ariful to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH) where on-duty physician declared them dead.

DMCH police outpost officer-in-charge SI Bachchu Mia confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
