GOPALGANJ: Six people including a police officer were killed in a road accident in Checiakandi area under Sadar upazila of Gopalganj district on Thursday noon (May 25).

Two of the deceased were identified as a sub-inspector of police Delwar Hossain, 32 and Azad Sheikh, 32, driver of a three-wheeler. Identities of the other deceased could not be known till filling the report.

Gopalganj sadar thana officer-in-charge (investigation) Omar Farukh told Banglanews that the accident took place around 12:00 pm as a Khulna-bound microbus collided head-on with a three-wheeler leaving three people dead on spot and four others injured.

They were rushed to sadar hospital. Of the injured, three people died later while undergoing treatment, he added.
