SIRAJGANJ: Miscreants snatched away at least 100 ballot papers of a union parishad (UP) chairman candidate in Ullapara upazila on Tuesday (May 23).

Binoy Kumar, presiding officer of Guagati polling center at Borohor union parishad, told Banglanews that some 10-12 people forcefully entered the poll center and snatched away the ballots during voting.

Some locals alleged that the men from opposing candidate with ‘boat’ symbol snatched away the ballots.

The incident was reported to responsible administration, said the presiding officer. 

However, union parishad election was holding in the union parishad on Tuesday.
