DHAKA: The managing director of Raintree hotel, Adnan Harun, will have to appear at the Customs Intelligent and Investigation Directorate (CIID) office Tuesday (May 23) over seizure of illegal foreign liquor from the hotel. 

CIID summoned him around 11:00 am at its office for questioning. 

Earlier on Monday (May 22), Chamber judge of the Supreme Court Justice Mirza Hossain Haider stayed for six weeks the High court order that halted the summons order issued by the CIID against Shah Md Adnan Harun for a month.

The court also issued a rule asking the authorities concerned to explain why the halt order on notice should not be declared illegal.

Earlier on May 13, CIID officials conducted a drive in city’s Raintree Hotel and seized 10 bottles of illegal foreign liquor from there. Moreover, the hotel authorities could not produce any legal papers in this regard.
