ASHULIA, SAVAR: A minor schoolgirl was drowned in a pond in Kabirpur area of Ashulia on Friday noon (April 28).

The deceased was identified as Mim Akhter, 12, daughter of Golam Mostafa, hailed from Telebari area of Ashulia. She was a sixth grade student in a local school.

Locals said Mim went missing after going for a bath with some neighbors in a local pond. Later local divers recovered her from underneath water and rushed her hospital where on duty physician declared her dead.
