Sumaiya found after 24 days, 2 held Five-year old Sumaiya rescued after 24 days of missing, reunited with parents

DHAKA: Five-year old girl Sumaiya has been rescued who was kidnapped from Kamrangirchar in Dhaka 24 days ago. She has been reunited with her parents.

The minor girl was rescued from the residence of one Kamal at Dakshin Dania area at Kadamtali in the city early hours on Thursday (April 27).

Deputy Commissioner (DC) of police of Dhaka Metropolitan Police’s Lalbagh division Mohammad Ibrahim Khan said this at a press conference at DMP’s media centre on Thursday (April 27).

Police also arrested two people in this connection. They are Sabina Akhter Bristy and Siraz Mia alias Babul. Police suspect that they are kidnappers.

Sumaiya went into missing from near her residence at Kamrangirchar on April 3.

Police detected the suspected kidnapers through video footage captured in a CC camera set up in a road near Sumaiya’s residence.

The video footage showed that arrested Sabina visited Sumaiya’s residence area on April 3. At that time, Sumaiya’s mother was inside the residence, while Sumaiya was at outside. At the time, Sabina kidnapped Sumaiya.

Sabina had used to live at Kamrangirchar area at a rented residence near the residence of Sumaiya. She left the residence six months ago.
 
Ibrahim Khan said that Sabina visited India more times. Police are investigating the matter whatever Sabina is a member of trafficking gang.  

Sabina’s husband is now in jail in a drug case.

Sumaiya’s parents are pleased over getting back of their beloved daughter. Father Zakir Hossain said that Sumaiya is now well.
