DHAKA: A youth lover has tried to commit suicide by pouring kerosene oil on himself in the capital city.

The incident of attempt to suicide took place on Saturday evening (April 22) at Sobhanbagh area in the city.  

Suman Kumar Paul engaged in a quarrel with his lover Maliha. At one stage of the quarrel, Maliha rejected Suman. For this, the youth tried to commit suicide.  

The locals rescued the youth and sent him to the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH).   

Dr Fahmida Akhter of DMCH’s barn unit said that 36 per cent of Suman’s body was burnt. He is in critical condition.  

Suman Kumar Paul, 26, is son of Swapan Kumar Paul pf Chalishia village in Jessore. He is student of a private university. He lives in a mess at Tollabag area at Dhanmondi.
