DHAKA: Indian army chief General Bipin Rawat is expected to arrive in Dhaka in a three-day visit on Friday (March 31).
He is coming to Bangladesh on an invitation of his counterpart Bangladesh army chief General Abu Belal Muhammad Shafiul Huq.
The Indian High Commissioner in Bangladesh released a press notice on Wednesday (March 29) noon regarding Bipin Rawat’s visit.
As per the notice, the main objective of this visit is to increase cooperation on security and defense between both countries.
Earlier, Bangladesh army chief visited India in September, 2015 and navy and air force chief visited India in 2016.
This is the first international tour of Bipin Rawat after being appointed the Army Chief on January 1, 2017.
