DHAKA: A Dhaka court on Wednesday (March 29) fixed May 7 as the date of submission of the investigation report in the case filed over the technical glitch of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s flight on November 27, 2016.
The court of Dhaka metropolitan magistrate Ahsan Habib fixed the new date as Counter Terrorism and Transnational Crime (CTTC) unit inspector Mahbub Alam could not submit the report in the morning.
Earlier on 27 November 2016, a Biman Bangladesh Airlines plane, carrying Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to Budapest, Hungary, had an emergency landing in Turkmenistan due to a ‘technical glitch’.
On 28 November, a five-member probe committee was formed to find out whether the ‘glitch’ was an act of sabotage or technical fault.
Civil Aviation Authority and civil aviation and tourism ministry formed the committee.
Besides, Civil Aviation Authority and Biman Bangladesh airlines formed separate two investigating committee.
Based on the investigation reports, a case was filed on December 21, 2016 accusing nine persons who were later suspended.
