Injured RAB intel chief to be sent to Singapore

DHAKA: RAB intelligence wing chief Lt Col Abul Kalam Azad, who sustained severe wounds in Sylhet blasts that killed at least six people, will be sent in Singapore by air ambulance for better treatment.

Assistant director of RAB’s legal and media wing Mizanur Rahman told Banglanews that Abul Kalam Azad is still now on life-support in the CMH and he will be sent in Singapore immediately by air ambulance for better treatment.

Alongside others, two RAB officials also received severe wounds in Saturday’s bomb blasts that took place on a road during the ongoing anti-militancy operation at ‘Atia Mahal’ at Daksin Surma upazila in Sylhet.

The two RAB officials had been admitted to the Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital (OMCH). Later, Abul Kalam Azad was shifted to the CMH by helicopter in midnight following deterioration of his condition.
