MAGURA: Two people were killed after a head on collision between a truck and a pickup van on Dhaka-Khulna Highway in Magura.

The accident occurred early Thursday morning (March 23) at Belnagar area of Magura sadar upazila, leaving the pickup van driver dead on the spot.

The driver name is Abu Hanif, son of Lal Mia of Fatulla in Narayanganj.

The rest victim’s name could be known immediately. The unidentified victim succumbed to injuries in the Magura Sadar Hospital.  

Sub-inspector (SI) of Magura highway police Abdur Rouf said that the Faridpur boud sand-laden and the pick-up van collided on the highway at about 5:00 am.   

The truck and the pick-up van were seized. However, the truck deriver escaped. A case will be filed in this regard, said the SI.
