CHAPAINAWABGANJ: At least three people were killed and seven others injured in a road accident in Mahadanga area of Chapainawabganj Friday afternoon (February 24).

The deceased were identified as Entaj Ali, 65, Abdul Karim, 50 and Hasehm Ali, all hailed from Nadiari in Gomastapur upazila of the district.

Quoting witnesses, Chapainawabganj Sadar Thana officer-in-charge (OC) Chowdhury Jobair Ahmed told Banglanews that a picnic bus overturned into a roadside pond as the driver lost control over the steering in the area, leaving three dead on the spot.

Police and local fire service officials were conducting a rescue operation, he added.
