BAGERHAT: A trawler was capsized in the Panguchhi River with 1,200 sacks of cement early Friday (February 24) in Morrelganj upazila of Bagerhat.

Morrelganj fire service and defense station officer Haider Ali Akon told Banglanews that the Sarankhola-bound vessel from Mongla was supposed to deliver cement in Morrelganj.

“But it hit the river bank and capsized near the steamer ghat here,” he added.

The fire service men of Morrelganj rescued two people including the sailor, he added.

Morrelganj Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Obaidur Rahman confirmed the matter to Banglanews.
