Indian foreign secy leaves Dhaka

DHAKA: India’s foreign secretary Dr S Jaishankar left Dhaka on Friday (February 24) after completing discussion about Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India.

He left by a flight of Jet Airways around 10:05 am. Bangladesh’s foreign secretary Shahidul Haque gave him a hearty send off at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport.

An officer of Indian High Commission to Dhaka confirmed the matter to Banglanews.

Jaishankar arrived in Dhaka on Thursday afternoon (February 23) to discuss preparations and agenda of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s visit to India, said foreign secretary Shahidul Haque to the journalists.

Shahidul Haque further said he held a bilateral meeting with Jaishankar at Hotel Le Meridian on Thursday evening.

We talked about defense and border security of both the countries, including Tista water sharing treaty and Ganga barrage project.
