JMB man held in Naogaon

NAOGAON: Police detained a member of banned extremist outfit Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB) from Atrai upazila of Naogaon district Thursday morning (February 23).

The detainee was identified as an aide of Bangla Bhai, Aichan Abdullah, 43, son of one Hafijul Islam, hailed from Naoduli village in the upazila.

Atrai thana officer-in-charge (OC) Badruddoza told Banglanews that acting on tip-off law enforcers conducted a drive in Bhortetulia area of the upazila and detained Aichan around 10 am.

“Aichan is an accused in two cases including a murder case. He was fugitive for a long time,” he added.
