Bogra road crash death toll reaches 10

BOGRA: At least 10 people were killed and 22 others injured as a bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck on Dhaka-Bogra highway in Sherpur of the district on Friday morning (June 3).

The identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, while seven of the injured are in critical condition.

Sherpur Fire Service officer Sohel Rana confirmed the matter to banglanews adding, “A Dinajpur-bound bus collided head-on with a stone-laden truck in front of a highway restaurant around 6.15am, leaving seven passengers dead on the spot and 25 injured”.

The injured were rushed to Sherpur Upazila Health Complex and Shahid Ziaur Rahman Medical College and Hospital (SZRMCH).

Later around 9:00am, two more passengers succumbed to their injuries at SZRMCH and one at Sherpur Upazila Health Complex, raising the death toll to 10.

The accident halted vehicular movement through the area for about an hour, leading to a traffic jam.
