5 cops, source sued

DHAKA: Five police officials including a source of police were sued on charge of abusing a girl at police club in Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate court area.
 
Victim’s mother Reba Begum filed the case with Kotwali Thana on Wednesday midnight accusing five cops including police source Babu, Kotwali Thana SI Nazmul Haque, Police member Jaman.

Kotwali Thana duty officer Makbul Hossain confirmed it to banglanews.

Victim’s father Md. Faruk told banglanews that he had a long feud with police source Babu. Following the previous feud, Babu tried to abuse his wife and daughter using police.

As per the case statement, the girl along with her parents went to the court to file a case against her husband for torture. Due to time shortage, they went back to home by a motorcycle.

In the meantime, a source of police intercepted them while they were going to outside the court. Later, victim’s father was taken to police club and tortured him.

When the girl asked about her father to police, they took her also inside the police club. Then, some police officials tried to abuse the girl.

Later, police charged baton on journalists and lawyers as they protested the incident.
