IU BCL secretary attacked

JHENIDAH: Some miscreants hurled two bombs and opened one round bullet targeting general secretary of Bangladesh Chhatra League, Islamic University unit, Shamsuzzaman Tuhin on Sunday morning.

Officer-in-Charge of Shailkupa Thana Saidul Islam Shahin told banglanews, “Miscreants attacked Tuhin in front of Rahatunnesa Girls’ High School when he was going to university, but he didn’t receive any bullet or bomb injury.”

Later a group of BCL activists of the varsity barricaded Jhenidah-Khustia road and ransacked few vehicles in protest of the attack.

IU BCL president Jahangir Hossain said that the anti-liberation terrorists hiding in BCL attacked Tuhin to kill him as a part of making IU campus unrest.

While a source said that the attack was a consequence of fractional clash of BCL centering admission business.
