Gas found in Srikail field

DHAKA:  State-run Petrobangla has found gas from well no. 2 of Comilla’s Srikail Gas Field through Drill Steam Test (DST) on Friday morning.

Confirming the matter to banglanews, Petrobangla Chairman Dr Hossain Monsur said they would give formal declaration after a little more observation.

Wishing anonymity, a Petrobangla official told banglanews that have to test the pressure of gas to be confirmed whether the gas would be produced commercially or not.

Petrobangla chairman Dr. Hossain Monsur, BAPEX managing director Mortuza Ahmed Faruque and higher officials went to Srikail on Friday night to visit the DST work.

BAPEX sources said a seismic survey reports that the well has 250 billion cubic feet (bcf) of gas.
