DHAKA: State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Jahangir Kabir Nanak said August 17 serial bombings across the country was sponsored by BNP-Jamaat alliance and financed by Tarique Rahman.
The minister came up with the allegation while addressing a protest meeting organized by Dhaka City Awami League held at AL central office in the city on Friday afternoon.
Khaleda-Nizami tried to establish terrorism by bombing around 500 bombs in some 63 districts in the country, Nanak alleged.
Now, they are trying to turn the country into a terrorist state by saving the grenade attackers, he added.
With Dhaka City AL acting president MA Aziz, State Minister for Law Qamrul Islam, AL Advisory Council member Md Nasim, AL organizing-secretary Khalid Mahmud Chowdhury, Dhaka City AL general-secretary Mofazzal Hossain Chowdhury Maya, Vice-president Foiz Uddin Mia, organizing-secretary Shahe Alam Murad, among others, spoke in the meeting.
