Woman ‘burnt to death’ in N’ganj

NARAYANGANJ : A woman was allegedly ‘burnt to death’ in Sultanbag area of Tarab Municipality under Rupganj upazila of the District on Thursday night.

The deceased was identified as Fatema, 33, a garment worker, wife of Rahim Mia and daughter of Nuru Mia of Fatehkandi village under Homna Thana of Comilla.

Deceased cousin and locals told banglanews, Fatema’s husband Rahim Mia burnt her down by splashing kerosene on her on Thursday night following a long-term altercation between them over Rahim’s extra marital relation with another girl.

Later, father-in-law of the deceased rushed her to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) Burn Unit where she succumbed to her injuries on Friday night.

Officer-in-charge of Rupganj Thana Atiqur Rahman Khan told banglanews, I sent police in this regard but nobody wished to file a case.
