DHAKA: An 18-day solo art show titled ‘Heavy Metal’ by Afro-French artist Dr Lambert Shumbusho began in Dhaka.
Organised by Bengal Art Lounge at its Gulshan gallery, the show was inaugurated by the Turkish ambassador to Bangladesh Mehmet Vakur Erkul Thursday evening.
Artist Shumbusho and Bengal Art Lounge director Nawshin Khair also spoke at the inaugural session.
All works by the artist in the exhibition are made of scrap metals including cans, tin, wires and other found objects.
Born in 1964, Afro-French artist Dr Lambert Shumbusho has been trying to present the warmth as well as the mystery of Africa.
A total of 16 artworks will be on display at the show, to remain open from 12:00pm to 8:00pm till July 29.
