JAMALPUR: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is set to address a mass rally at local mass ground under Sarishabari Upazila of the district in afternoon.
The rally will be held at about 3:30pm with Upazila AL president Abdul Malek in the chair.
Food and Disaster Minister Abdur Razzak, Rail and Communications Minister Obaidul Quader, Land Minsiter Rezaul Karim Hera, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Commissioner Bengir Ahmed, Whip Mirza Azam will attend the rally.
Source said the premier is likely to arrive at Advocate Motiur Rahman Talukder Railway Station in the district at 1:30pm by a special train from Tangail.
On her way to Jamalpur, she also is likely to address in two wayside rallies at Bhuapur and Hemnagar stations.
Earlier in the morning, the premier inaugurated the 37-km long Bangabandhu Bridge-Tarakandi rail link.
Earlier, the helicopter carrying the premier landed at about 10:20 am at helipad set up at east end of Bangabandhu Bridge and then she addressed a rally at a ground adjacent to station.
The 37-km long Bangabandhu Bridge-Tarakandi rail route was built at a cost of TK 120 crore. Five new rail stations were built on the route.
These are Bhuapur, Hemnagar in Tangail and Baroypatal and Advocate Matiur Rahman Talukder in Sarishabari upazila of Jamalpur district.
