MUNSHIGANJ: A delegation of Malaysian government (technical) has visited Padma bridge area Tuesday.
They visited Kumarvog construction area, rehabilitation and parking yard of Mawa end of Padma Bridge.
Later they visited rehabilitation area of other end in Shariatpur.
A source from Bridge Department said that some 15 member visited the area but they did not comment anything.
During the visit, they were accompanied, among others, by caretaker of Bridge Department engineer Manjurul Islam, engineer M Kamruzzaman and deputy director Krisna Kanti Biswas.
On May 28, the government received a formal proposal from Malaysia to build the much-talked-about Padma Bridge connecting the southwestern region to the rest of the country.
A 26-member Malaysian delegation led-by Adviser to Malaysian Prime Minister Dato Seri S Samy Vellu gave the official proposal to Bangladesh at a function held at Shetu Bhaban at Mohakhali in the city.
