DHAKA: A road accident saved a man from being kidnapped by some miscreants from city’s Paltan Thana area early Thursday.
The rescued man identified as Didar Ahmed Pulok, 35, is a Bangladeshi expatriate in London.
Later, police held four suspected abductors from Dhaka Medical College Hospital.
The detainees are Mamun, 32, Jafri, 24, Helal, 24 and Shafiq, 36.
Source said Pulak went to Lab aid Hospital due to his mother’s illness. Some miscreants kidnapped him while returning home at about 1am by his car.
At one stage, kidnappers’ microbus faced a road mishap at Tongibari of Gazipur at 2:30am, leaving abductors and Pulak injured.
After the accident, the abducted man managed to flee the spot and admitted into DMCH at 6 am. Noticing the abductors taking treatment here, Pulak started shouting.
On information, police of DMCH outpost caught them and handed over to Shahbag Thana.
Regarding the matter, Shahbag Thana SI Hero Molla told banglanews, “Four suspected abductors held from DMCH and they are being quizzed. The process of filling case is underway.”
