1 killed in Gazipur road crash

GAZIPUR: A man was killed when a bus knocked him down in Cheragali area under Tongi upazila of the district on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Shahidul Islam, 40, son of Nurul Islam, hailed from Patuakhali.

Officer-in-Charge of Tongi Thana Ismail Hossain told banglanews that a bus knocked him down in Cheragali area around 1:15pm while he was crossing the road, leaving him injured critically.

Later, he succumbed to his injuries on way to Tongi Hospital, he added.
