3 Jamaat men held in Dinajpur

DINAJPUR: Police held three leaders and activists of Jamaat from a protest procession in Nawabganj upazila of the district Monday afternoon for their alleged involvement in illegal activities.

The detainees are A Salam, Jamshed Ali and Hasan.

Witnesses said, as a part of the central committee convened programme of Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, Nababganj Upazila Unit of the party staged a procession from Nababganj Bus Stand.

At one stage, police held three men from the procession in Nababganj Bazar area around 1:30pm.

Officer-in-Charge of Nawabganj Thana Maminul Islam told banglanews that they were arrested for their involvement in staging unpermitted rally and procession for creating anarchy.
