JnU professor Nurul Momen dies

DHAKA: Jagannath University (JnU) Philosophy Department teacher Professor Dr Md Nurul Momen died of cardiac arrest at Dhaka National Medical College Hospital early Sunday. He was 55.

He left behind his wife and two sons and a host of relatives and admirers to mourn his death.

He got admitted into Dhaka National Medical College Hospital as he felt pain in his chest at about 1:30am where he breathed his last around 2:30am.

The first Namaz-e-Janaza of Prof Nurul Momen will be held at Jagannath University mosque at 12pm. He will be laid to rest at Mirpur Martyred Intellectuals` graveyard after Asr prayers.

The Jagannath University authority expressed deep condolence over Nurul Momen’s death.

Prof Nurul Momen was born at Adabaria village in Kustia on October 12 in 1957.  He received Doctorate degree from India’s Jadabpur University in 2004.
