DHAKA : Education Minister Nurul Islam Nahid went to Mumbai of neighbouring India on a three-day ‘personal visit’ invited by BSB Foundation and Cambrian College Chairman MK Bashar on Thursday.
He left for Mumbai on a flight of Jet Airways Thursday evening.
The minister will receive an award during his visit. Businessman MK Bashar will also receive a prize on the same programme.
Education Ministry sources said Nahid and Bashar are going to get the prizes through Bashar’s lobbying. An official of the education ministry has mediated between the education minister and MK Bashar.
According to public relations department of the education ministry, The World Education Congress (WEC) nominated Nahid for ‘Award for Outstanding Contribution to Education’ for his special contribution to education sector in Bangladesh.
