DHAKA: Bangladesh National Museum celebrated its 99th founding anniversary by arranging several programmes on its premises.
The museum authorities arranged a special display of artefacts, essay competition for children and a video presentation on the museum’s activities on August 7.
Cultural ministry secretary Suraiya Begum was present as chief guest while museum trustee board member Professor Manzoorul Islam was present as special guest at the celebration programme.
Bangladesh National Museum director general Prakash Chandra Das delivered welcome speech at the programme, presided over by trustee board chair M Azizur Rahman.
‘Museums provide visitors with information about a country’s history and cultural heritage,’ Suraiya said adding, ‘the museums should be enriched with more rich facilities.’
