DMCH: The bullet wounded BCL activist of Rajshahi University Sohel Rana was succumbed to his injuries at Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Monday noon.
Earlier in the day, he was shifted to DMCH from Rajshahi Medical College Hospital as his condition deteriorated.
Confirming the matter to banglanews, RU BCL source said, “Sohel died at about 12:15 pm while undergoing treatment.”
Sohel received bullet wound early Monday as two rival groups of BCL locked into a fierce clash over establishing supremacy on the campus.
Later, he was rushed to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital in critical condition.
At least 15 rounds of bullets were exchanged during the gunfight between the supporters of RU Chhatra League President Ahmed Ali and General Secretary Abu Hossain Bipu at Madar Baksh Hall at about 12:15am.
On information, police rushed in and brought the situation under control.
Later, they raided different students’ hall. But, police did not find anything. Additional police have been deployed on the campus to avert further untoward situation, police sources said.
