DHAKA: Opposition BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia on Wednesday left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia to perform Umrah Hajj.
The carrier aircraft of the opposition leader took off Shahjalal International Airport around 7:10pm.
Younger brother of Khaleda Shamim Iskandar, his wife Kaniz Fatema and son Faiz Iskander and APS to Khaleda Zia Suratuzzaman are accompanying Khaleda at the tour.
Party vice-Chairman Selima Rahman, Khaleda’s adviser Barrister Shahjahan Omar, Dr AZM Jahid Hossain and joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi were present in the airport during her departure.
During her visit, she will reside in Royal Darul Aman Palace as a guest of Saudi Arabian King, sources said.
The former Prime Minister is likely to return home on August 18 after a 10-day visit in KSA.
