Mother-daughter murdered in Pirojpur

PIROJPUR: A mother and her daughter were chopped to death at Kachubaria village under Mathbaria Upazila early Wednesday.

The deceased were identified as Nazma Begum, 30, wife of Yahia and her daughter Tabassuma, 8.

Locals caught Badol Khan red handed from the spot and handed over him to police.

Locals said Yahia was out of house on Tuesday night. Badol took the opportunity and tried to violate Nazma entering the house at about 4am on Wednesday.

Badol chopped Nazma and her daughter as she protested him from violation.

Hearing the scream, locals rushed in and captured Badol from the spot.

Nazma died on the way to Upazila Health Complex. Tabassuma was shifted to Barisal Medical College Hospital where she succumbed to her injuries at about 8am.

Pirojpur police super SM Akteruzzaman said, “Badol is mentally imbalanced.”
