One killed in city road accident

DHAKA: A motorcyclist was killed and another injured as a truck rammed their motorcycle in city’s Banani area early Saturday.

The deceased was identified as Julfikar Rahman Shishir, 30, son of Mujibar Rahman in Wari area of the city.

Banani Thana SI Emdadul Haque said, “A truck hit a motorcycle at Banani no. 11 road about 3am, injuring two passengers.”

We rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where duty doctor declared Julfikar dead, he said.

Sohel Muhammad is now under treatment in the hospital.

The driver was held with the truck and taken under the custody of Banani Thana, the SI added.
