Police killed in Naogaon road crash

NAOGAON: A village-police was killed while bus ran over him on Naogaon-Rajshahi Highway near Haji Gobindapur Community Center under Manda upazila on Saturday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Saheb Ali, 60, village police of Kusumba union, son of late Ajgar Ali, of Thanthania village of the union.

Local sources said a Naogaon-bound passenger bus of Rajdut Paribahan from Rajshahi ran over him from the behind around 2:30pm while he was returning home riding on a bicycle, leaving him dead on the spot.

Manda Thana inspector Abdullah Hell Baki told banglanews that police recovered the body from the spot and kept in the thana.

An unnatural death case was filed in this connection.
