SAVAR: The workers of readymade garments in Ashulia began demonstration for the third consecutive day Wednesday demanding salary-hike.
Vehicular movements on Abdullapur-Baipail road halted in the morning as the RMG workers are demonstrating on the street.
Police patrol has been tightened in the road to avert any untoward situation. The workers took position in different points. They are throwing brickbats towards police personnel.
About 200 garment factories were closed and 50 workers were injured on Monday and Tuesday’s labour unrest.
Earlier on Tuesday night, about 200 workers of Express Washing and Dying Limited of Hameem Group faced police attack when they went to join work.
In the meantime, about 30 workers were injured as police charged baton on them. The injured were admitted to hospital.

Some 20 readymade garment factories in Ashulia area were Monday declared closed amid labour unrest.
