School boy drowns in Jamalpur

JAMALPUR: A 14-year-old school boy drowned in Doshani river in Tupkarchar village under Bakshiganj upazila of the district Friday.

The deceased was identified as Gopal Saha, son of Rabindranath Saha of the area.

Rabindranath said that strong tide took Gopal away when he went to bathe in the river with three other classmates.

Gopal was found dead at a distance of 1 kilometer away, he added.

Officer-in-Charge of Bakshiganj Thana Abu Fazlul Karim confirmed the matter.
