Sunday’s stocks end lower

DHAKA: Country’s stock market marked fall again in its price indices on Sunday.

The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 12 points only to stand at 4,287 at the close on the first trading day of the week.

The volume of transactions, however, increased to Tk 1,737 million from Thursday’s Tk 1,185 million. Trade deals stood at 45,180 against the previous day’s 74,210.

Of the issues traded, 81 advanced, 158 declined and 28 remained unchanged.

SAIHAMCOT topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 115 million having changed hands.

The other turnover leaders were BSCCL, LAFSURCEML, KEYACOSMET, MPETROLEUM, GP, LANKABAFIN, SQURPHARMA, BEXIMCO and NBL.

Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,212 by dropping over 39 points.
 
Out of the issues traded, 48 gained, 122 declined and 12 remained unchanged.

On Thursday, the benchmark indices at DSE and CSE rose 4 and 10 points respectively.
