DHAKA: Opposition BNP acting secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed his deep reprehension and objection over the attack on Barisal city BNP procession.
He expressed his discontent in a press release signed by BNP joint secretary-general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi released on Monday.
The government attacked BNP men in Barisal without any provocation following their series repressions on opposition to obstruct the ongoing mass-unrest against their black rule, he alleged in the press release.
The attack is the symbol of brutal politics of the government, he termed.
The BNP spokesman demanded exemplary punishment for the attackers.
The former state minister also wished quick recovery of the attack victims.
