KUSHTIA: An on-duty police member was killed as a tractor ran over him on Kushtia-Rajbari road in Mollategharia area in the district on early Tuesday.
The deceased was identified as Nazrul Islam, 30, a Nayak of Housing police camp, hailed from Jhenidah district.
Kushtia Model than police source said, “A speedy tractor ran over the on-duty police man at about 3am, leaving him dead on the spot.”
On information, police rushed in and recovered the body.
Confirming the matter, Model thana OC Kazi Jalal Uddin said police seized the tractor but failed to hold the driver.
