DHAKA: Newly appointed French Ambassador to Dhaka Michel Trinquier Thursday said France is keen to invest in some projects in Bangladesh.
The envoy came up with the disclosure while talking to journalists after a courtesy call on Foreign Minister Dipu Moni at her office in the city.
He told journalists that the bilateral relation between Bangladesh and France is agreeable. “I will look forward to developing this relation,” he said.
The diplomat said France already has invested a bulk portion in Lafarge-Surma Cement Factory. Discussion is going on to invest on Sayedabad Water Treatment Plant Project.
He said, “We are inspired as of experience to invest in metro-rail project. This project will be implemented by France and Asian Development Bank joint investment.”
Replying to a query on Readymade Garments Industry crisis, he said, “The government has upheld the mess efficiently. Every country got this type of problem and I hope it will not ensue anymore.”
