DHAKA: Investors witnessed fall in the benchmark indices of country’s bourses on Monday.
The Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) general index shed over 36 points to stand at 4,689 at the close on the second trading day of the week.
The volume of transactions however increased to Tk 1,564 million from Sunday Tk 1,363 million. Trade deals stood at 44,550 against the previous day’s 36,858.
Of the issues traded, 94 advanced, 138 declined and 25 remained unchanged.
LAFSURCEML topped the turnover list with shares worth Tk 132 million having changed hands.
The other turnover leaders were SIBL, GP, SQURPHARMA, JAMUNAOIL, MPETROLEUM, LANKABAFIN, TITASGAS, EXIMBANK and NBL.
Chittagong stocks also followed the suit, with the CSE Selective Categories Index climbing down to 8,902 by dropping over 53 points.
Out of the issues traded, 43 gained, 104 declined and 18 remained unchanged.
On Sunday, the benchmark indices of DSE and CSE shed 43 and 91 points respectively.
