JHALOKATI: Limon, a college-student crippled in shooting by some RAB personnel, along with his mother was allegedly attacked by a source of RAB in Edurgram area under Rajapur upazila on Monday afternoon.
Victim Limon told banglanews: “Leader Ibrahim, introducing himself as RAB source, beat us on way to our resident from Rajapur at 5:30pm in the area.”
Later, on information, locals rushed in and admitted injured—mother of Limon Manwara Begum and elder brother Suman--to Rajapur Health Complex after rescue.
On March 23 in 2011, Limon Hossain, a student of Kathalia PGS Multipurpose Vocational School and College, was shot and injured reportedly by the members of Rapid Action Battalion led by DAD Lutfar Rahman of Barisal-8 unit of the elite force.
He was taken to Barisal Sher-e-Bangla Medical College Hospital three hours after the shooting, reports say. Doctors on March 25 referred him to Nitor in Dhaka.
Limon’s left leg was amputated from the thigh on March 27 as his leg tissues were totally damaged due to excessive bleeding, the physicians said.
On March 23, immediately after the shooting incident, Rab filed the couple of cases against him.
