Whip’s motorcade attacked in Jessore

JESSORE: At least 10 people were injured as agitating villagers attacked on the motorcade of Treasury Bench Whip Abdul Wahab on Saturday morning.

Witnesses said villagers, who protesting against the Tidal River Management (TRM) project, attacked the whip’s motorcade on his way to inaugurate the project at about 11:30am, leaving 10 injured including ASP of the Whip.

The injured were admitted to Upazila Health Complex.

Besides, six vehicles were vandalized and torched during the incident.

Meanwhile, chase and counter chase is going on between agitating villagers and police till 12:45pm.
