Tigers before new psychologist

DHAKA: Bangladesh National Cricket Team players had to seat at a class of psychologist on Sunday to develop their capacity of positive thinking ahead of upcoming West Indies tour.

Dr Phil Jauncey, an Australian psychologist, is set to start the psychological class at city’s Mirpur Sahara-BCB national cricket academy building in the noon and the session will end Monday afternoon.

Earlier, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has appointed Dr Phil for the tigers.

In 2014, despite having the benefit of home ground Bangladesh failed to win even a single ODI playing ten matches. They lost nine matches and one ended without result due to rain.

In this circumstance, BCB appointed a psychologist to rejuvenate the mental condition of the players before the West Indies tour, sources said.

Before Dr Phil, a Bangladeshi-origin Canadian Ali Azhar Khan worked for Bangladesh Cricket Team as sports psychologist.
